How we checked these seeds
We didn't copy these from other lists. We generated 26,648 random seeds and ran each one through cubiomes, the open source library that reproduces Minecraft's world generation, using a fork that supports Java 26.3 with the Dappled Forest and Abandoned Camps. For every seed we worked out the spawn point, the biome at the surface, every structure within 700 blocks and the closest stronghold. Then we picked the 30 strongest starts by hand and checked a sample against an independent seed map, where spawn points, village positions and village types all matched.
The maps on this page are drawn from that same data. North is at the top, each map is 1,200 blocks across with spawn in the middle, and the larger icons are the structures listed under each seed.
These are map checks, not playthroughs. Seed maps predict where structures can generate, and once in a while the terrain stops one from appearing. Your exact spawn point can also land a few blocks from the one listed, because the game settles it on the blocks it generates there.
How to use a seed in Java Edition
- Make sure you're on Java Edition 26.3.
- Choose Singleplayer, then Create New World.
- Open the World tab and paste the number into Seed for the World Generator. Include the minus sign if there is one.
- Create the world, then press F3 to see your coordinates and head for the X and Z values listed under the seed.
Trial Chambers and Ancient Cities are underground, so the coordinates tell you where to dig. Mojang's Java Edition 26.3 release notes list everything else the drop added.
Questions
What makes a Minecraft seed good?
A good seed gives you something useful or striking close to spawn: a village to trade with, a ruined portal for an early Nether trip, Trial Chambers or an Ancient City for loot, or a rare biome worth building in. Every seed on this page has at least two of those within a few hundred blocks.
Do these seeds work on Bedrock Edition?
No. These seeds were checked for Java Edition 26.3. Bedrock places structures differently, so the same number gives you different village, camp and chamber positions on Bedrock.
Which version do I need?
Use Java Edition 26.3, the Wilderness Bound drop. Older versions don't have the Dappled Forest or Abandoned Camps, and a future drop can change what generates in new chunks.
Where does the Dappled Forest generate?
Mojang's notes say the Dappled Forest is found near cold biomes. In our scan, about 1 in 130 worlds put spawn in or right beside a Dappled Forest, and roughly one in seven of those also had a Cherry Grove within 100 blocks.
Which biomes have Abandoned Camps?
Abandoned Camps can generate in 18 biomes: Meadow, Cherry Grove, Forest, Birch Forest, Old Growth Birch Forest, Flower Forest, Windswept Forest, Dappled Forest, Taiga, Snowy Taiga, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, Old Growth Pine Taiga, Sparse Jungle, Bamboo Jungle, Swamp, Savanna, Wooded Badlands and Pale Garden. Each biome has its own camp design, with chests and barrels of loot.
How deep are Trial Chambers and Ancient Cities?
The Trial Chambers starting room generates between Y -40 and Y -20, with most rooms between Y -20 and Y 0. Ancient Cities always have their floor at Y -51, inside the deep dark.
